![]() It seems to work just as it did when it was tied to View NX. Thanks, after a bit of digging I found it. Read the information below before proceeding. To use any of these applications after installing ViewNX-i, uninstall ViewNX-i and reinstall the application. Installing ViewNX-i uninstalls ViewNX, ViewNX 2, Nikon Transfer, and Nikon Transfer 2.Before beginning installation, exit ViewNX-i and all other applications, including any anti-virus software. When performing the update, log in to an account with administrator privileges.Download and run the file to perform the update. This software is distributed as a file named “S-VNXI_-010204WF-ALLIN-ALL_.exe”.So I went to Nikons Support site, and looked at the latest version of View NX-i, downloaded and installed it (v.1.2.4) and it is NOT included. On Windows XP Transfer 2 is separate there as well: C:->Program Files->ViewNX 2->ViewNX 2->Nikon Transfer 2 (I run Win XP2 in an emulator) Or in Applications->Nikon Software->ViewNX-i On a Mac you can find it in Applications->Nikon Software->ViewNX 2 While Transfer 2 was incorporated into the ViewNX 2 and later the ViewNX-i downloads, it remains a stand alone program. The other replies haven't been quite on the mark. I usually tag and add other information in my RAW editing software. I suppose if I had to I could just copy the files directly, but as an ex-sportswriter I learned early on to tag ALL my photos with IPTC data as well as copyright and contact info. As it is, I need to offload to an external USB3 drive. I suppose I could try it, but I am running out of drive space on this little SSD thing. Normally I use Photo Mechanic, but I don't believe I am licensed to use it on another laptop. In the red menu bar, click the Key icon and select Product Information. What about the latest version of View NX-I? Do I dare install it for fear of it removing a now working version of Transfer2 on my Mac? I know, it was MacOS that had the problem with Transfer2 (I fell victim) but is that any reason to remove the software from the download page? I had to put SOMETHING in there to make it worthy of this section. Some cameras, some lenses, some computers I just put the card in a card reader, connect the raeder to the USB port, then drag-&-drop the files or use the copy function of the file system. But I never trust any software to transfer files. I have a tiny Netbook for travel, and also unload the cards when I am on a trip. ![]() ![]() What happened? Is this all because of the corrupt images with the D500? ![]() I also noticed that the instructions for View NX-I states that it now uninstalls Transfer 2 when you install NX-I. Got a new small travel computer and went to download Transfer 2 so I could unload some cards while on vacation near Seattle, and I can't seem to find it on Nikon's site where it used to be. ![]()
